Tarpon
Jungle tarpon fishing is a very unique experience that every die hard tarpon angler must experience. The fish we target often spend much of their time in freshwater rivers and lagoon systems where they grow big and fat. By the time they come back to the ocean, they are stronger than ever!
Machaca
The machaca is the prize freshwater sport fish of Costa Rica and are our favorite fish to target in the jungle. They eat on the surface and put up a great fight on an 8wt fly rod. We fish for these fish in lowland jungle rivers via whitewater rafts outfitted with a frame for fly fishing, much like drifting a trout river out west.
Trout
A hidden gem in Costa Rica’s high mountain jungle streams. These fish are not native to the country but have been thriving here since they were introduced many decades ago. Catching a trout in the jungle is an experience all to itself. Beautiful scenery, beautiful wildlife, and beautiful fish.
